What is an Orthodontic Consultation, and why do you need one?

An orthodontic consultation is considered a pre-treatment appointment that gives the Orthodontist, aka Dr. McEntire, a chance to evaluate your teeth, gums, and your overall oral health. These appointments are important because it gives Dr. McEntire the opportunity to address your specific orthodontic needs, but also gives you a chance to let us know how we can help you achieve your dream smile!

What happens at your consultation appointment?

First, you will be greeted by our friendly receptionists! They will ensure all of the proper paperwork has been provided to you and has been completed. Please feel free to bring any dental records you would like to share with us such as x-rays or referrals from your general dentist.

Once all of your paperwork is complete, you will meet one of our fabulous treatment coordinators. They will take two x-rays, facial photos, and a digital impression of your teeth.

The next step will be for Dr. McEntire to complete an oral exam. He will also take a look at all of the images and x-rays that were taken by the treatment coordinator and discuss which treatment option is right for you. For example, are traditional braces the best option, or could you use Invisalign to accomplish your orthodontic goals? All of these questions will be answered for you at this time!

After your evaluation with Dr. McEntire, you will receive a customized treatment plan from your treatment coordinator that will include your recommended treatment type, treatment timing, and will breakdown the financial side of the treatment.
